Welcome

I’m very proud to be Mayor of the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority and am grateful to you for considering working with us.

I stood for election because I believed our region had so much more to offer and wanted to be part of unlocking its potential. I was delighted to be given the huge privilege of responsibility and am more determined than ever to deliver on my mandate.

You will know that we, as an organisation, are making good progress along our path to improvement, and will recognise that these appointments represent substantial, additional steps in that same direction.

From my perspective, for every challenge that exists here there are many more opportunities.

We as a Combined Authority are increasingly clear about what we need to do and, as this recruitment process demonstrates, are ensuring we have the talent and capacity to get it done.

Our ambitions are not modest and nor should they be. We represent a geography, an economy, and a population that is as complex as it is fascinating. We have an unrivalled natural environment, a wealth of history, heritage, and culture, global-stage leading-edge institutions across academia and industry, and a network of communities spanning the breadth and depth of life chances.

For everything here to celebrate, and there is plenty, there’s also much to make better. For me this is a huge source of motivation and I do hope it holds that same appeal for you.

Thank you again for coming this far, and if either of the roles interest you I look forward to your application.

Dr Nik Johnson – Mayor

Thank you for taking an interest in one of the two senior officer vacancies we are currently recruiting for at the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority (CPCA).

Both of these vacancies are exciting and challenging roles, that will be part of our Corporate Management Team helping to shape the future direction of our organisation and region.

Both the successful candidates will be supporting the development and delivery of one of the most ambitious agendas in local government, in one of the most innovative and diverse places in the country, if not the world.

Cambridgeshire and Peterborough is a community of opportunity. Our mission is to ensure that workers, learners and business leaders in every part of our region can access and make the most of those opportunities.

Since I became Chief Executive in June last year, my team and I have been focused on delivering against our Strategic Vision; for a prosperous and sustainable Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.

Driven by our values and using our collective voice and strengths, we seek inclusive good growth for an equitable, resilient, healthier, and connected region.

As an organisation, the CPCA has been going through a significant period of change and transformation since Autumn 2022. With a recent refresh of our governance model and an emphasis on sustainable growth, we are focused on the next stages of our continuous improvement journey to ensure we deliver our ambitious plans and future devolution opportunities.

We are now at a stage where we are looking for high calibre, passionate and experienced individuals to join us in our journey to unlock Cambridgeshire and Peterborough’s full potential working effectively with our partners and complete our permanent recruitment to the management team.We are looking for people who want to make a real difference to the region and want to be part of an exciting and supportive culture.

If you would like to be a part of that journey and think you have the skills and experience set out in the respective application packs, I look forward to receiving your application.
